Who We Are and What We Do
Maslow’s Community exists to support local people, asylum seekers and refugees who are experiencing poverty and isolation in Govan, Glasgow. We create a safe, inclusive space where people can access essentials for free, develop skills and build strong social networks. Our goal is to help people move from crisis to stability, and from isolation to belonging. We do this through volunteer-led activities, practical support, English classes, wellbeing sessions and community events. Everything we offer is rooted in dignity, co-operation and lived experience. We are often described by our service users as one big ‘family’, where everyone is welcome. Each year, people make more than 14,000 visits to our shop and 7,500 visits to our hub.

“A great charity doing good work for those who need extra support. They also are a fantastic charity shop if you want to donate anything, especially house items and will provide it directly to people who have little in their home.”
